Gloucester Services

The Alexandra Wellbeing House otherwise known as “The Alex”

The Alexandra Wellbeing House is a joint project between Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind and 2gether NHS Foundation Trust, supported by NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group.

The wellbeing house provides a safe environment for adults needing up to two weeks of support, therapy and advice. The five bedrooms, along with a shared living room, cooking facilities and garden space, will particularly be used by people with mental health concerns or those in mental distress.

Our aim is to:

  • Support guests to develop wellbeing and safety plans to help prevent further escalation which may result in hospital admission.
  • Support those being discharged from hospital so they can move back into the community if they have their own secure accommodation arrangements.

The wellbeing house is situated in central Gloucester and was officially opened on Wednesday 5th July by the Countess of Wessex.

In order to access this service, a guest must be:

  • Registered with a GP within the Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group area.
  • Over the age of 18
  • Able to manage their own self-care and medication
  • Risk assessed to ensure the environment is safe and suitable
  • Not subject to Mental Health Act (except for CTO and section 17 leave)
  • Not subject to Mental Capacity Act

We accept referrals from 2gether NHS Foundation Trust teams, GP’s and other organisations that have been working with an individual for 6 months or longer.
